The environment in which you work and live has direct impacts on your health. Typically, ECS works on health projects in the work place when occupational exposure has impacted the worker. This may include a worker being exposed to welding fumes, mold, poor indoor air quality, worker exposure above the permissible exposure limits (PEL’s). ECS wants to help you make sure you are protecting your workers’ health to the best of your abilities.
Indoor Air Quality
Indoor air quality is an important factor in workers’ comfort and their overall health. Poor indoor air quality can cause a wide range of health issues including headache, fatigue, trouble concentrating and irritation of eyes, nose, throat, and lungs. There are no indoor air quality standards, however, there are ventilation requirements and standards on some of the air contaminates that can be an issue with indoor air quality. ECS has a range of air sampling kits to test your indoor air. Let us help you ensure a healthy safe working environment for your employees.
Noise or unwanted sound is one of the most prevalent occupational health hazards. The hearing conservation program is designed to protect workers from hearing loss due to significant noise exposure. ECS has Occupational Hearing Conservationists (OHC’s) who have the equipment and training to develop and monitor your hearing conservation program in accordance with OSHA 3074. Employers are required to monitor employees who are exposed to noise at or above 85 decibels (dB) averaged over an 8-hour work day and provide hearing protection. ECS has a sound meter to determine the decibel levels of a work place or environment as well as an audiometer to establish a baseline and monitor employees hearing. Our sound meter and audiometer are portable, making it easy for us to come to you.
Mold can be a common problem in nearly any environment with water intrusion. The presence of mold or mold spores can lead to allergic reactions and respiratory problems in many people. Certified through the American Mold Institute, ECS will address mold and mold spore problems in industrial, commercial, and residential buildings. Healthy working and living conditions are essential; ECS will use the safest, most efficient, and cost effective techniques to address your mold remediation needs.
